CPU - central procesor unit - INTEL or AMD - For Chaser required singlecore CPU, but INTEL 3GHz or more and AMD equivalent 2800+ (1,6GHz) or more. If u have dualcore CPU, ur gameplay-euphoria is better. For Chaser u need 2GHz or more (ggod playing).
Quadcore to same as dualcore - no more FPS, no more improves
RAM - unquestionable fact for games is: u need primary hidher frequency, not low latency
example DDR1 - DDR 450-500MHz with 3-3-3-8 (3-4-4-8) timming better than DDR 400MHz and super timming 2-2-2-5
example DDR2 - 1000MHz 5-5-5-18 better than 800MHz 4-4-4-12

GPU - graphic procesor unit - Nvidia or ATI (AMD)
real "central" unit for games

FPS - frames per second, fraps etc ...working

LAGG - how eliminate chaser laggs, fraps ...working

OC (Overclocking) - improve ur game playing, standard oc CPU or GPU, but u can OC ur mouse performance too (USB or PS/2 ports)
But bad overclocking can make unstable ur system or decrease ur real FPS

CPU vs GPU - unquestionable fact for games is: u need primary good GPU

well, imo, u got two simple options :
get a better graphic card

or

play with a low graphic config, including low resolution. it surely boosts up ur FPS's.

Overclocking isn't for newbies so if your going to use it, I recommend to use it with caution and read allot of crap first. And if your computer is like a girlfriend to you, don't touch it @ all. They don't like to much volt. A clean install is the anwser to most questions/higherfps/smoothgameplay/Xp-pro/Use the thing between ur ears

Go to school, go to work, earn money and buy a computer and play, i prefer...

Or ask ur dad Computer and 999 FPS is nothing, i bought and played till the time with laggers when i had 94 fps they had 30-50fps and connection 100kbps so no way to hit them, now all of them bought new computer, but still laggs - same ping, so better computer and razermouse never helped me when my opponent is PORTUGAL or whoelse....

Fps has nothing to do with lag and connection. he asked how to get more fps's, not to lag less.

Im just telling him, that he can have max fps, if he is playing against lagger no chance to hit him ^^
